Cyclone Tam

In the aftermath of Cyclone Tam in Northland, Powerlines Hawke’s Bay Ltd aided Top Energy NZ in restoring electricity. The cyclone left over 24,000 homes without power, with about 4,600 still affected weeks later due to extensive damage. Powerlines Hawke’s Bay sent a crew of 4 to support restoration efforts alongside Top Energy. Their collaboration was crucial for addressing outages and ensuring community safety. Top Energy acknowledged the resilience of customers during this time. This effort highlights the importance of unity in facing natural disasters and the commitment to restoring essential services.

Hatuma Rd pole and re-conductor completion

The Hatuma Rd pole and re-conductor project involved the installation of 1100 meters of replacement conductor along with the erection of 15 new concrete poles measuring 11 meters each. This upgrade included all necessary associated hardware. The project was successfully completed for Centralines network, located in central Hawkes Bay.

Highlights 24/25

Powerlines Hawkes Bay Ltd has indeed achieved significant progress this year, marked by the successful completion of numerous projects on the Centralines Network. Our first participation in the 2024 Annual Connection Event in Te Awamutu was another milestone for the company. We extend our gratitude to our dedicated team, their families, and all our supporters for contributing to another memorable year. Their efforts have truly made this year a remarkable highlight for us.

2024 Annual Connection

Powerlines Hawkes Bay Ltd successfully participated in the 2024 Annual Connection event hosted in Te Awamutu in October. The dedicated team, comprising Jimmy Marinus, Jared Tawharu, Nick Biss, and Ash James, was under the management of Haden Anderson. Over the span of three days, the team competed in 15 events, showcasing their skills and expertise. They achieved notable victories in the Hardware Install event, the Electrical Theory exam, and the EPZ Cable Riser Install event. Such accomplishments are significant for a small company, highlighting the hard work and commitment of the team.

Lastly, we would like to thank our sponsors Buckingham Manufacturing, Milwaukee, Natty Eyewear, and Bierer Meters. With their support, the team was able to not only be competitive but also safe during the competition.
